Who Pays You When Your Off Work?I called in sick last week, apparently had just a simple cold virus that's spreading around. Tis the season eh. I work part-time at a local store and it's usually no big deal for them if I miss a day here and there. But of course I don't collect any PAY either. When I was nursing in hospitals I could collect sick pay, but I realize not every job or profession offers such benefits. What happens if you need an extended period of time off work? I bring this up now because, well, it's always an important consideration, but with this new Influenza, H1N1, people can be off work for up to two weeks. So how do people manage if they loose a days pay? How will YOU manage? Will your business be able to pay you if you don't show up today...tomorrow? If you own your own business, be it home based, on-line or a typical store front, you need to know.
1 Put money aside each month, perhaps in a separate savings account, to cover you in times like these. - Be aware of service charges by banks. See if you can find an account that doesn't make your savings disappear. ING Direct seems to have such accounts available 2 Create a web site for your business that will at least bring in some Google Adsense monies. - Every business, whether nursing or not, whether sales or service or informational, should do this anyway. A web site is far cheaper (if you use the right tool) than advertising via yellow pages, radio, newspaper, plus it has the capability of allowing to increase sales potential. How? By allowing you to sell e-books, advertising space, or Google Ads. All these can happen automatically, allowing you to collect some income even if you are home sick in bed.
It's really simple, honest. Hey, if I can do it.....! :) I'll show you some inexpensive tools to use to turn your writing in to a PDF format (easiest to read as an e-book), plus...
I'll show you how to store it on your computer so you can upload it on to your web site. Then you can sell...sell...sell...even while you're asleep!

Nursing students...there is a chat / bulletin board area where you can ask questions and get answers from other nursing students. Very insightful indeed.
