Welcome to the Nightingale Lost blog.

So what is this exactly?

Well, it's sort of like a chat room but perhaps a little more personal.

For me, as a freelance writer, it is a way of helping me keep track of thoughts and ideas I will be using in my books.

My newest book, Nursing: A Wicked Profession, includes some of the thoughts I wrote down in this blog. Of course, there is a great deal more in the book itself. I've tried to give readers a truthful view of how very difficult the practice of nursing is, and yet, how rewarding it can be when one realizes the immense power the profession has to make change...even on a global scale.

Anyway, I have decided to share my writing journey with you.

I focus a lot on the current and ever increasing issues around the nursing shortage, health care short falls and world events that affect nurses.

I also spend serious time looking at the nursing image and how we desperately need to fix it.

I hope you will consider this somewhat of a chat room. Feel free to read, leave comments, good or bad. If you know of friends or others who are as passionate about the professions future as I am please feel free to pass along my entries (even have them comment).
