Canadian Nursing SchoolsThe Canadian nursing schools have been listed by province, including their web addresses. Nursing schools now offer only 4 year BN direct entry education. This is actually to your benefit, as most employers are seeking nurses with these minimum qualifications. You would also do well to specialize in a specific area, knowing you can always diversify your training and experience later. Many Canadian nursing schools are experiencing waiting lists, as the search for experienced instructors continues (among other reasons). Many schools also offer post RN programs, for nurses who initially trained with the 2 year Diploma program and now wish to complete their degree. There are also accelerated Baccalaureate to Doctoral courses now being offered. Recognizing the needs of many of us who can not afford (time or money wise) to return to school full time, some schools also offer distance education opportunities. For those seeking to become an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) be advised this program is now 2 years.
