Free Resume Examples

This page provides you with free resume examples.

It doesn't matter how good a nurse you are, your first contact with a potential employer is likely to be your resume so it must speak for you.

You must show (in as few words as possible) your expertise, your strengths and desires and most importantly how the employer can benefit from hiring you.

The following items should be included:

  • education / honors
  • certifications / affiliations
  • career objectives
  • work experience
  • computer skills

  • Keeping things to 3 pages or less is probably a good idea.

For work experience it is not necessary to reiterate your job description from your last place of work, merely highlight your accomplishments.

REMEMBER...you must make a strong first impression!

    Examples of nurse resumes

The resume of a new graduate is certainly going to be different from an experienced nurse.

In this case it is best to include such factors as:

  • Areas of practice your training covered
  • Volunteer experience
  • Your goals for your nursing career
  • A point to your advantage...many employers prefer to hire new graduates, as opposed to an experienced nurse who has not worked for 6months or more.

    Resume Cover Letter

Every resume should be accompanied by a cover letter.

Even if you are applying for a nursing job on-line you should include a cover letter.

The cover letter should ultimately be no longer than 2 short paragraphs and should give just enough information about yourself, as a professional prospect, to excite the potential employer.

Excite them enough to want to view your resume
