A Nursing Career Alternative
After many years of hands on nursing I was growing tired, and grumpy, and I think it showed to my patients. I tried to find other work but often employers looked at me like I had 2 heads. I had no other experience, not for years anyway, and I kept imagining they were thinking silently to themselves..."you're a nurse, go get a nursing job". I was getting frustrated and the thought of returning to a more traditional nursing job just didn't hold the same appeal for me anymore. But... I found a way to use my years of nursing knowledge and expertise in a whole new way. Those 20+ years of nursing took me to many places and exposed me to many unique situations. As I explored my past I discovered some interesting and financially lucrative business ideas.
I soon realized I did not have to depend on others seeing my worth for a potential job...I knew my own worth...and I could create my own job. Now I'd like to show you how, so you don't need to face the same frustrations I have.

How I Became a Nurse Entrepreneur
I started out years ago (part time) with my own nurse business.Living in Nova Scotia, I stepped out of nursing to have my children. It was nice to know I could be home with them in those early years, and not have to worry about going to work and finding a sitter. Being somewhat of an entrepreneurial mind anyway I decided to start a business of my own. I managed to find a small office space in a local community health clinic and I started my own nursing service business offering several nursing services for which I was trained and experienced.
Weight management counsellingspap smearsHome health nursing services (if ordered by a physician, my clients were able to claim my service costs) I then also contracted my services to a company who provided paramedical health screens for companies selling life insurance.
And eventually... ...I opened up my own Home Healthcare store, where I sold and rented aids to daily living, bathroom fixtures, wheelchairs, and loads of other stuff. One day I discovered a secret. A REAL and AFFORDABLE answer to being in business for myself, without borrowing money from the bank. Even better...I was guaranteed success.
I am only working for someone else on a casual basis now. I work for myself ...full time And MONEY IS NOT A WORRY!
Today I own NurseSentry.com plus 2 other web sites.

I've added new sections to help you determine how much you should charge for your services or product, and how to collect payment online. As nurses we are used to being paid a salary, but when it comes to figuring how much we are worth we tend to shy away...and undercut ourselves. I think this new section will help you feel stronger and more sure of your own personal, and professional, worth.
